The department Welcomes Alumni Dr. Joseph Rich and Dr. Hayley Ford as New FacultyThe Department of Chemical & Biological Engineering is thrilled to announce the addition of two new faculty members to the team: Dr. Joseph Rich and Dr. Hayley Ford. In a unique homecoming, both professors are returning to the department after receiving their undergraduate degrees in Chemical Engineering from BYU in 2020.
Alumni Spotlight: Joseph Hartvigsen, Chief Executive Officer, OxEon Energy
Joseph Hartvigsen, Co-Founder and CEO of OxEon Energy, is a pioneering engineer with more than four decades of experience advancing solid oxide technologies, hydrogen production, aerospace thermal systems, and clean-energy innovation. His career bridges aerospace engineering, advanced materials, fuel cell science, and renewable energy—not only in industry-leading organizations, but also through his own entrepreneurial ventures.
